Located in Northern California, my shop is in the upstairs family room of my house. And also the garage, a couple of bedrooms, and the outside darkroom. Oh and sometimes on the deck. My Press is named after my favorite tree, the California Buckeye (Aesculus Californica), although the presses themselves have their own names: Horace (24x36 Takach etching press), Cyril (C&P Pilot), Lola (Poco 0), Betty (9x11 baby Albion), and Molly (Vandercook 4).

My printmaking includes woodcuts, engraving, silkscreen, and etching. I like to try to combine as many processes as possible in one print; I am rather fond of layers.

I am more attracted to the utilitarian than the purely decorative. I like to document things, gather information, learn. A lot of what I do is plumbing my own memory to record it. None of it is particularly remarkable, but to me it seems important and frankly it’s an easy way to find a project with meaning (this is probably delusional, but I am going to embrace it).
