First Eleven is about the initial 11 weeks I spent at home on lockdown in 2020. The eleven prints depict the virus or the organs it affects. Most are reduction woodcuts but there are also engravings, a wax collagraph, and several silkscreen printsPrinted on Arnhem 1618 & Coventry Rag. I used the typefaces I had to hand—Della Robbia, Pastonchi, one of the Goudys, Centaur, and Veronese. I summarized the week’s doings for each of the text pages, recounting what I thought were the high points. Intended to be an edition of 5, only 4 were completed.
